The family of Walter Dienstag

Paula Dienstag’s husband Walter Dienstag was born in Berlin on 5th of August 1880. He is the son of Ida Dienstag, born Wolff (born in Olsztyn-Polen on 16th of March 1857, died on 30th of August 1933) and Moritz Dienstag (born on 14th of July 1847, died on 7th of July 1902). Ida and Moritz Dienstag had two daughters besides Walter, Hannah and Martha.

Moritz Dienstag was a merchant and lived with his family in Berlin Mitte in Klosterstraße 40. He was the owner of a clothing store with the name “Dienstag & Wolff“. Co-owner was Ed. Wolff, maybe a relative of his wife. After the death of her husband Ida Dienstag became the owner of the store. From 1906 onwards Walter became owner of the store. In 1920/21 the store has moved to Bischofstraße 25. From 1923 on the store was located in Neue Friedrichstraße 86. There is no clue that the store „Dienstag & Wolff“ existed after 1926.
