Who was Paula Dienstag?

Paula Dienstag was born under the maiden name Saft in Działdowka on 21st of May 1893. We do not know if she has spent her childhood there and we do not know when she came to Berlin. We also do not know when and where she met the merchant Walter Dienstag. But we know for sure that they married and had a son named Joachim. He was born in Berlin on 22nd of August 1923.

Since 1931 Paula Dienstag was living in Goethestraße 12, in Berlin Charlottenburg. She was a nurse and an orthopedic physical education teacher.

On 12th of January 1943 Paula Dienstag was deported by the Nazis to Auschwitz. There she was probably murdered on 13th of January 1943.
